The practice of halotherapy dates back to the 1840s, when a physician from Poland noticed that salt mine workers didn’t experience respiratory issues. Today, halotherapy often occurs in salt rooms or caves that mimic a true salt cave. Halotherapy, or dry salt therapy, is a spa treatment in which medical grade salt is heated, put into a halogenerator, ground into microparticles and then blown into a room where you sit and breathe the salt particles to help improve breathing and overall wellness.
